CHASKA, Minn. — If there were any doubts about Chaska taking home its second straight regular season championship this year, they were extinguished on Sunday night as the Moose wrapped up their COMO Classic crown against Minnesnowta.
DeMarcus Cousins was (surprise!) excellent, averaging 29.67 bones over all three rounds, and cemented his status as one of this season's All-COMO players. But general manager Joseph Fafinski is not quite ready to pop the champagne. Last year's loss in the COMO Finals to Shorewood is still weighing on him. "It's a fun honor to take home the inaugural trophy, and we're proud of our boys," Fafinski said. "However, we don't want to be the Peyton Manning of COMO, so we won't let up in the postseason." Chaska will take its foot off the gas during the final two weeks of the regular season. "Coming into the season, we knew we had a special squad. To prepare for the postseason, we'll give guys like DeMarcus, Kyle Lowry, Paul Millsap and Timmy Duncan a well-deserved rest. Guys like Nik Stauskas, Mike Conley and Enes 'The Penis' Kanter will hit the floor." Oh, and they aren't worried about Shorewood, which recently acquired superstar LeBron James for the stretch run. "The Moose aren't too concerned with the Show acquiring King James," Fafinski said. "Our boys have crushed this season, so no reason to believe they won't put their best effort forward. United we graze, y'all."
